Alive the Alleyway

A project by Ibrahim (Southampton)

Ibrahim brought together a group of local residents to revitalise a neglected alleyway in SO14. The effort involved clearing tonnes of rubbish, removing overgrown weeds and painting murals, transforming the space into a cleaner and safer environment. What was once an overlooked and unusable area has been reclaimed as a place where young people can safely play and enjoy. This project highlights the impact of community collaboration. Inspired by a young person’s vision for positive change, 150+ people came together for a collective clean up, demonstrating the strength and potential of collective action at a local level. The initiative was profiled by BBC.
